Consul Batyr Rejepow – the first secretary of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Azerbaijan had been in the National Library. Director of the National Library professor Karim Tahirov received the guest.

During the meeting, it was mentioned that relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan had been based on the principles of mutual friendship and partnership. Also necessity of expanding relations between the national libraries was noted. During the conversation, it was decided to open book exhibition dedicated to the Independence of Turkmenistan at the National Library.

In the end, well-designed “Gobustan – a book of millennia” (in Azerbaijani and Russian languages), “Azerbaijan National Library – Photo Album” (in Azerbaijani, English and Russian languages) books and Map of the cultural objects (in English) were presented to the guest.

In his turn, Mr. Consul presented the book “Living legend” dedicated to the beauty of Turkmen carpets and translated into Azerbaijani to the National Library.
