On September 30, director of the National Library of the Czech Republic Mr. Petr Kroupa had been in the National Library. Director of the National Library professor Karim Tahirov welcomed the guest, expressed his satisfaction with the meeting, and gave detailed information about the library. He mentioned that the national library was the founder of the archive fund of the national press, and it was the methodical centre for the libraries of the republic.

Mr. Petr Kroupa said that books related to Azerbaijan were protected in the fund of the National Library of the Czech Republic. He suggested organizing an exhibition consisting of the works of Nizami Ganjavi in Prague next year. K.Tahirov suggested displaying the same exhibition in Azerbaijan National Library on the eve of the V Baku International Book Exhibition-Fair which would be held in September, 2017. He also suggested publishing of catalogue of the works of Azerbaijan classics and ancient manuscripts related to Azerbaijan that protected in the National Library of the Czech Republic, in three languages: in Azerbaijani, Czech and English languages. Mr. Kroupa appreciated this project.

Mr.Kroupa reviewed the National Library and its new project “Open Library”. He loved the “Open Library”, said that it was very exciting and important project, and stressed that it was very important to make such a project in Prague too.

In the end, Azerbaijan National Library “Photo Album” (in Azerbaijani, English and Russian languages), “Azerbaijani cuisine” book (in English) and a map of cultural objects of Azerbaijan were presented to the guest.
