On August 2, 2023, the opening of the "Literature and Art of Uzbekistan" corner and the presentation ceremony of the newly translated edition of the work "Bygone Days" by Abdulla Gadiri, a prominent representative of Uzbek literature, were held in the framework of "Days of Uzbek Culture in Azerbaijan" at the National Library of Azerbaijan.

The event was opened by the Director of the National Library of Azerbaijan, professor Karim Tahirov, and the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Adil Karimli, the Deputy Ministers of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Saadat Yusifova and Murad Huseynov, as well as the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Ozodbek Nazarbekov, led the delegation of Uzbekistan and all the participants of the event. greeted. He informed the guests that a series of events will continue on August 1-4 within the framework of "Uzbekistan Culture Days". The speaker said that there is constant close cooperation between the national libraries of the two brotherly countries, and also that in 2019, a permanent corner of Uzbekistan was opened in the International Cooperation Hall of the National Library of Azerbaijan, and today, the founder of the Uzbek national novel genre, Abdulla Qadiri, presented the new edition of the book "The Past Days" and "Uzbekistan He emphasized that we gathered at the opening of the "literature and art" corner.

The Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, Mr. Ozodbek Nazarbekov, greeted the participants of the event, spoke about the cultural relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, and said that more than 200 representatives of Uzbek art and literature visited Azerbaijan within the framework of the "Days of Uzbek Culture in Azerbaijan" and that various events will be held over the course of three days. He wished success to those who participated in the "Days of Uzbekistan Culture" event, expressed that he hoped that the Uzbek literature would be better known in Azerbaijan through the event, and that it would be an opportunity to further strengthen the relations between the two countries.

Later, the guests got acquainted with the corner called "Literature and Art of Uzbekistan".

 The event continued with the presentation ceremony of the newly translated edition of Abdulla Qadiri's work "The Past Days" in Azerbaijani. Professor Karim Tahirov noted that the book we gathered for the presentation is an important publication for young readers, and spoke about the importance of the work in conveying the national moral values ​​of the Uzbek people to Azerbaijani readers.

 In the continuation of the event, a documentary film about Abdulla Gadiri was shown.

After that, the Chairman of Azerbaijan Writers' Union, People's Writer Anar greeted the Ministers of Culture of both countries and the participants of the event and said that cultural and political relations with ancient history are continued at a high level even today, he was happy to participate in the presentation of the book of the classic of Uzbek literature Abdulla Qadiri, the Republic of Uzbekistan He expressed his gratitude to the Uzbek people for being awarded the Order of "Friendship" by order of President Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The president of the International Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation, Gunay Efendiyeva, welcomed the Uzbek delegation, led by the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, Mr. Ozodbek Nazarbekov, and said that Uzbekistan, which is an integral part of the Turkic world, is happy to hold culture days in Azerbaijan, which is another integral part of the Turkic world. He spoke about the permanent mutual brotherly relations of Azerbaijani and Uzbek writers. At the same time, he said that the example of brotherhood demonstrated by the heads of state of both countries is based on the traditional relations of friendship, trust and mutual understanding in our country. He also said that the repeated publication of the work in the Azerbaijani language is more than the interest in the work, the author, and Uzbek literature in general in our country.

Academician Rafael Huseynov, director of the National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, stated that holding the "Uzbek Culture Days" in Azerbaijan is a clear example of the unity of the Turkic world, and spoke about the existence of relations between the two peoples in the 1000-year time frame, both in ancient and modern times. He said that the friendly relations established by the presidents of both countries in the 70s of the last century are continued in the same way today, and that both countries are getting closer in the political and international arena. The speaker stated that the book's author, translator, Khalid Said Khocayev, and Hanafi Zeynalli, who was the editor, were victims of repression, and noted that Abdulla Qadiri had a positive impact on Azerbaijani literature.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to our country Bahrom Ashrafkhanov expressed his satisfaction with the "Days of Uzbek culture in Azerbaijan" and thanked the leadership of the National Library of Azerbaijan for organizing the event. He emphasized that Uzbek literature has always been valued by the people of Azerbaijan, that the work's 100th anniversary will be celebrated in 2022, as well as the 100th anniversary of the first satirical magazine "Mushtüm" published in Uzbekistan, of which Abdulla Qadiri is one of the founders and active authors.

The deputy chairman of the Culture Committee of the Milli Majlis, writer-publicist Fazil Mustafa noted that today's event is an important event in terms of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations. He said that the renaissance of the two countries will affect the development of the Turkic world.

The member of the Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, People's Poet of Uzbekistan Mahmudjan Tohirov said that he was surprised and proud that Uzbek art is so loved in Azerbaijan on this significant day.

Professor Almaz Ulvi, the head of the "Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan Literary Relations" department of the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of ANAS, expressed his gratitude to the President of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to our country Bahrom Ashrafkhanov, and the publishing house of Education, 2024- drew attention to the fact that the 130th anniversary of Abdulla Qadiri will be held.

Bahadur Kerimov, a member of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, Head of the Department of Literary Theory and Modern Literary Process of Tashkent State University, said in his speech that the work consists of 3 parts, he emphasized that the first reader of the work was the Uzbek people, and the second reader was the Azerbaijani people.

Doctor of philological sciences, professor Ramiz Asgar, expert of the Culture Committee of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Akbar Goshaly, expressed their opinions about the book.

Professor Tarlan Guliyev, doctor of philological sciences, presented Alishir Navai's work "Mizanul ezvan" translated by him to Mr. Ozodbek Nazarbekov, Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan.

Abdulla Gadiri's grandson, writer Khondamir Gadiri expressed his gratitude to the ministers of culture of both countries and everyone who contributed to the creation of the book for this great presentation.

 In the end, the National Library of Azerbaijan published the exquisite edition of the manuscript of "Khamsa" by the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, Mr. Ozodbek Nazarbekova, kept in the National Library of France, the 1929 edition of the book "The Past" on electronic media, the book "Azerbaijani carpets in world collections", "The National Library of Azerbaijan" ” photo album was presented, and a commemorative photo was taken at the end.
