On May 29th, there was an online meeting at the National Library of Azerbaijan discussing the application of the KOHA Automated Library Management System in libraries overseen by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Dr. Adiba Ismayilova, PhD in History and Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs and Library Information Services at the National Library of Azerbaijan, welcomed the participants. She spoke about the modernization of processes in libraries in recent years, the expansion of activities in the application of advanced methods and technologies, emphasizing the importance of training sessions conducted at the National Library related to the implementation of the new program. She highlighted that the main purpose of the meeting was to analyze the current situation in libraries in this direction, identify problems, and provide recommendations for their resolution. She noted that regular discussions would be held on issues related to the implementation of the program and wished success to all involved, inviting them to actively participate in the discussions.
During the meeting, Deputy Director for Information and Technological Development at the National Library, Togrul Kamilzade, discussed the functions of the program. Colleagues analyzed the current situation in this field, discussed issues encountered during the implementation process, explored ways to improve quality, and more. They addressed actual questions, provided necessary recommendations aimed at enhancing functionality, and conducted discussions in these directions.
