In the National Library, the next training for the implementation of the KOHA Automated Library-Management System has been started

On May 15, the next training was started at the Training Center of the National Library of Azerbaijan regarding the implementation of the KOHA Automated Library-Management System for specialists of the Baku Centralized Library Systems under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The director of the National Library, professor Karim Tahirov, opened the training and welcomed the participants and said that the purpose of today's training is related to the second stage of the KOHA Automated Library-Management System (studying the program and applying it in regional libraries). He emphasized that the application of the KOHA Automated Library Management System in libraries will enable the use of more than 850,000 rich collections of the National Library of Azerbaijan, making it possible to operationalize, facilitate and speed up the service to readers.

Speaking at the event, Akif Marifli, head of the book industry department of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, doctor of philosophy in history, first congratulated the participants on the implementation of the KOHA Automated Library Management System in libraries. He characterized the introduction of the KOHA program as an innovation and the main line of optimization in the period of reforms in the field of libraries in the country. He emphasized that the KOHA program, which is a joint project of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Library, is applied in more than 70 countries of the world, and noted the main advantages of the program.

Ibrahim Aliyev, the head of the Baku City Culture Department of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, noted during his speech that the book is the national wealth, past, present and future of every nation, so valuing the book is one of the components of our cultural policy. He emphasized that the implementation of the KOHA Automated Library Management System in the libraries under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan is one of the serious reforms carried out in recent years related to libraries.

A total of 14 specialists from Binagadi, Garadagh, Narimanov, Nasimi, Nizami, Sabunchu, Sabail, Surakhani, Khatai, Khazar, Yasamal District Centralized Library Systems of the Baku City Culture Department of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and M.A. Sabir City Public Library participated in the training. does.

It should be noted that the purpose of the training is to support the implementation of KOHA, an open source, integrated library system with an active, rapidly developing and well-structured codebase, user interface configurable and adaptable, in public libraries under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The training will continue until May 18.
