May 18 is celebrated as the International Day of Museums in the world. Established by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) to promote cultural exchange and cooperation between nations, this holiday is held every year under a different motto.

The main purpose of today is to show how important role museums play in the life of society. On the International Day of Museums, people visit museums and enrich their knowledge about national culture and history.
