The 140th anniversary of the birth of the prominent public and political figure, one of the founders of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, and the chairman of the Azerbaijani National Council, Mammad Amin Rasulzade, is being celebrated.
Mammad Amin Rasulzade was one of the key figures who played a significant role in realizing the ideal of independence and revitalizing the national statehood of Azerbaijan during the early decades of the 20th century, in a time of crisis and geopolitical challenges. His idea of independence stemmed from the national freedom aspirations deeply rooted in the centuries-old memory of his people. Rasulzade's brilliant publicist, political, literary-critical, and scientific legacy, which became a chronicle of his era, holds a special place in the history of Azerbaijan's public thought. Even during his long years in exile, he continued to live and fight for the dream of an independent Azerbaijan.
By the end of the 20th century, the Azerbaijani people, who restored their state independence, proved that, as Rasulzade believed, the national flag had descended not on the land but into the hearts and consciences of the nation, and everyone was committed to protecting it in their souls, hearts, and minds.
