On May 13, Carlos Dante Riva – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Argentina in Azerbaijan, and secretary Gisandro Basilico had been in the National Library.

Director of the Azerbaijan National Library professor Karim Tahirov received the guests. After giving brief information about the library, Karim Tahirov noted that he had invited the director of the National Library of Argentina to the IV Baku International Book Exhibition-Fair, but for some reasons the director had not been able to come, so the signing of Memorandum on bilateral mutual cooperation had been postponed.

Mr. Ambassador said that the meeting would contribute to cooperation.  He said that the works by Argentine writers were translated into Azerbaijani and published by the Translation Centre, then, offered the presentation of the book to be held at the National Library.  He stressed that this event would be the first step in establishment of relations. K.Tahirov accepted the presentation of the book to be held at the National Library with great pleasure.

The guests were presented “Photo album” Azerbaijan National Library (Azerbaijani, English, and Russian languages), the map that reflecting the cultural objects of Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijani literature books.
