On July 10, a conference on "Azerbaijani press and our national-spiritual values" had been held in the National Library organized by the Presidential Administration, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the State Support Fund for Development of Mass Media and the Press Council in accordance with the order of Ilham Aliyev, the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan on “The 140^th anniversary of the Azerbaijan national press".

The participants of the event got acquainted with a great book exhibition named “Azerbaijan National Press - 140”. The founder of our national press - newspaper “Əkinçi”, our first printed publications: “Molla Nəsrəddin”, “İqbal”, “Kəşkül”, “Tuti”, “Yeni həyat”, “Babayi Əmir” “İnqilab və mədəniyyət”, “Şəlalə”, “Şərq qadını” “Ziya”, “Təkamül”, “Kaspi”, “Nicat”, “Məzəli”, “Açıq söz”, “Həyat” and etc., books reflecting the life and work of H.Zardabi, F.Kocharli, M.F.Akhundov, N.Vazirov, M.A.Sabir, U.Hajibeyov, J.Mammadguluzadeh, S.A.Shirvani and others who have invaluable services in formation of national press, have been demonstrated at the exhibition. The exhibition caused great interest of the participants.

At the conference, the winners of the competition organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Azerbaijan Press Council on “Our national dances are our national values”, and a few journalists were awarded by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
