On July 1, the representatives of the Academy of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited the National Library. Head of the Customs Academy, Major General of the Customs Service, Gulu Novruzov, speaking about the events carried out by the Academy together with the National Library of Azerbaijan in recent years, both the organization of the exhibition of the books that Great Leader Heydar Aliyev gave to the National Library when he was at the National Library, and the exhibition held at the Customs Academy stating that the meetings play a great role in the moral education of the personnel and increasing the enthusiasm for reading, he emphasized the great need to strengthen the future cooperation relations. Therefore, he said that they came to discuss the main directions of bilateral cooperation.

Major-General Gulu Novruzov also mentioned about the work done in relation to the library-information service for the students and teaching staff of the Customs Academy recently, as well as the innovative novelties applied to this service, asking for assistance to ensure that the students and teaching staff use the publications in the electronic database of the National Library effectively at the same time, they will support the National Library in any issues.

Director of the National Library of Azerbaijan, Professor Karim Tahirov, thanked Gulu Novruzov and his staff for this meeting, emphasized that most of the readers of the National Library are students and young people, and noted that a number of events held with the Academy of the State Customs Committee were also productive for our librarians. The director mentioned that they are ready to organize joint events with the Academy of the State Customs Committee and to provide the student-teachers of the academy with the use of open electronic resources in the National Library.

During the mutual discussion, the signing of an agreement on mutual cooperation on ensuring that all open electronic resources of the library, which are in the electronic database of the National Library and at the level allowed by the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Copyright and Related Rights" are available to the student-teacher staff of the Academy of the State Customs Committee, and in this agreement decided to reflect the mentioned issues, as well as other related issues.

In the end, the head of the Academy of the State Customs Committee, Gulu Novruzov, thanked the director of the National Library of Azerbaijan, Karim Tahirov, for the efficient services of the National Library together with the academy, as well as the efficient activities of the State Customs Committee in organizing the export and import of books and other printed products as the chairman of the Expert Commission according to the order of the chairman of the State Customs Committee,  on the occasion  of "30th anniversary of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan (1992-2022)" was awarded with the jubilee medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the jubilee medal was presented to prof. Karim Tahirov.

Thanking the Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Safar Mehdiyev, and to the administration of the Customs Academy for this award, K. Tahirov expressed his satisfaction with mutual relations with both the State Customs Committee and the Customs Academy and expressed their readiness for future joint activities.

In the end, there was a mutual donation of books ceremony by the Customs Academy and the National Library.
