The II plenary session of the VI World Intercultural Dialogue Forum, which started in Baku on May 1, is dedicated to the topic "Intergenerational dialogue for peace and global security".

Miguel Moratinos, the UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations, who delivered the opening speech, said that it is necessary to increase the resistance of young people against radical meetings. He noted that the Alliance of Civilizations is conducting analysis in this direction, and propaganda projects are being prepared. In the ongoing session, moderated by the representative of the Alliance of Civilizations, Anna Pavlyuchenko, Iosif Brifel, Vera Al-Mawla, Atif Rashid (Capacity Building Program for Dialogue and Interfaith Networks - UK), Catherine Marpong (Centre for Intercultural Innovation - Indonesia), Alistair Charles (Centre for Intercultural Innovation - South Africa), Gracian Mkandavire (Global sports program - Malawi) and Leyla Hasanova (COP29 young climate champion) reported.

It was noted that in order to prevent radicalization in society, regular work should be done especially with young people, the promotion of progressive values ​​should be expanded, and their opinions should be listened to. It was stated that in order to achieve progress in this field, directing young people to different fields of sports is of great importance.

At the end of the session, Miguel Moratinos emphasized the importance of voiced opinions and messages. In order to prevent violent and radical thoughts of young people, different projects should be implemented at the global level and efforts should be combined. For this purpose, cultural tools should be activated, and the possibilities of art and sports should be used.
