The event was opened by the director of the National Library of Azerbaijan, professor Karim Tahirov, who welcomed the guests, headed by Ding Tao, adviser to the ambassador of the People's Republic of China and Huzhou University professor Tsin Pei Hua. He informed the guests about the history of the National Library of Azerbaijan and talked about mutual international cooperation with the National Library of China. The speaker emphasized that on the basis of the memorandum signed by the national libraries of both countries, a permanent Chinese corner was opened in the International Cooperation Hall of the National Library of Azerbaijan, and the books displayed in the corner were constantly updated with books donated by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in our country or guests to the National Library. The director informed the guests that a permanent corner of Azerbaijan will be opened in the National Library of China.

Professor Tsin Pei Hua welcomed the event participants and expressed his pleasure to be at the National Library. He said that he is sure that readers will get information about Chinese culture and history through the books he will donate to the National Library. On behalf of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China, Professor Karim Tahirov expressed his gratitude to the staff of the National Library.

The guests got acquainted with the "Student Youth Service Hall" and "Rare Books and Library Museum" located in the National Library. The books kept in the "Rare books and library museum" department especially attracted their attention.

 At the end, the guests were presented with the "Azerbaijan National Library" photo album, the book "Azerbaijani carpets in world collections" and the map "Azerbaijan in the old and present times".
