February 2 is Youth Day in Azerbaijan. This significant historical day is associated with the name of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who always treated young people with great attention and care, attached special importance to the measures taken to solve their problems, and evaluated this policy as one of the most important directions of the activity of the independent Azerbaijani state.
From the very beginning of his leadership of the republic, the Great Leader acted as a patron of young people and did unparalleled work in the field of raising a new generation with sound thinking. The holding of the first forum of the youth of the independent Azerbaijan Republic on February 2, 1996, the declaration of the Day of Azerbaijani Youth a year later, the signing of the decree "On State Youth Policy" in 1999, etc. are indicators of his great attention and care for young people.
President Ilham Aliyev, who continues the youth policy of the Great Leader today, pays special attention and care to young people.
In Azerbaijan, considerable work has been done at the state level for the development of youth, the legal framework has been improved, children's and youth non-governmental organizations have been created, and a healthy environment has been formed for the organization of their activities.
Today, youth policy in our country has entered a new stage in essence and quality. Azerbaijani youth are already living in a period of independence and sovereignty. The young generation of independent Azerbaijan is distinguished by its love for the Motherland and people, loyalty to the state, and commitment to national traditions and values. Azerbaijani youth is being formed as a modern, developed, highly intelligent leading force of today. Young people are very successfully operating in various fields, making a great contribution to the overall development of our country.
