September 27 is marked as Remembrance Day in Azerbaijan.
Remembrance Day, established according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated December 2, 2020, is an expression of deep respect for our soldiers and officers who fought heroically in the Patriotic War and died for the territorial integrity of our country.
On September 27, 2020, in response to the next military aggression of the armed forces of Armenia against our country, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief started a 44-day Patriotic War for the liberation of our occupied areas.
The Patriotic War is our glorious history, martyrs and veterans are our pride. Our soldiers and officers who showed heroism in the struggle for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our republic, our civilians working on the rear front, and our people as a whole showed determination and will, unity and solidarity like a fist, and dealt devastating blows to the enemy. The targeting of innocent civilians by the Azerbaijani Army, who were powerless in the face of counterattacks, and numerous war crimes could not break the determination of our people to win.At the cost of the blood and lives of our martyrs, soldiers and officers, veterans, our occupied lands were liberated.
The heroism of our martyrs has always been an example for the people of Azerbaijan, for the youth of Azerbaijan, and will continue to be an example. Today's and future generations of Azerbaijan will learn from the heroism of our martyrs. Even if time passes the path of life those who sacrificed their lives for the protection of our land and the defense of our Motherland will be the greatest honor and pride for us. It is the duty of each of us to commemorate those who rose to this peak, and to always remember their memory.
On the occasion of September 27 - Remembrance Day, a virtual exhibition called "Heroes of the Patriotic War are not forgotten" was prepared by the employees of the Azerbaijan National Library named after M.F. Akhundzade. Official documents, photos, books on the subject and articles published in periodicals are displayed in the virtual exhibition.
