November 8 is Shusha city day. Shusha city day is celebrated for the first time in Azerbaijan.

As a result of the military aggression of Armenia, our ancient historical lands, which were under occupation for nearly 30 years, were freed from military and political occupation in the 44-day Patriotic War, and every day leading to the glorious Victory was written in golden letters in the history of Azerbaijan.

According to the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev dated July 31, 2023 on perpetuating the historical victory achieved in the Patriotic War and establishing the days of liberated cities, November 8 is celebrated as "Shusha City Day". The establishment of this significant day is related to the date of the liberation of the city of Shusha from the occupation of the Armenian armed forces.

Also, the day when Shusha was liberated from occupation - November 8 is celebrated as Victory Day in Azerbaijan.

On this occasion, the staff of the National Library prepared a virtual exhibition called "November 8 Shusha City Day".
