The first women's magazine in Azerbaijan, ("Eastern Woman") (currently Azərbaycan Qadını) "Azerbaijani Woman" magazine) turns 100 years old.

The "Şərq qadını" magazine, which began publication in November 1923 and is published once a month, covers the current topics of the struggle for women's rights, the organization of women's clubs, educational programs and schools, the protection of mothers and babies, the creation of kindergartens, women's counseling centers, and craft cooperatives systematically illuminated.

The first name of the magazine was "Eastern Woman". Therefore, from February 1938, the name of the magazine was changed to "Azerbaijani woman".

In this regard, the employees of the National Library of Azerbaijan prepared a virtual and traditional exhibition called "Şərq qadını jurnalı–100".

In the virtual exhibition, photos, articles published in periodicals related to the topic, books related to the press history of Azerbaijan, in addition to the first issue of the Şərq qadını magazine, in the traditional exhibition, the issues published in different years, literature about the history of captivity, social activities of Azerbaijani women are displayed.
