On September 15, Memorandum on mutual cooperation between the National Library of China and the Azerbaijan National Library had been signed in the National Library. Director of the Azerbaijan National Library professor Karim Tahirov received the delegation consisting of 5 members headed by the director of the National Library of China Mr. Han Yongjin. He spoke of the relations between Azerbaijan and China, and noted that the Memorandum would be very important for the readers of both countries. He also spoke about the exchange of electronic resources, and conservation and preservation of documents. After introducing the delegation, Mr. Han Yongjin gave brief information about the library. Head of the book circulation and publishing affairs department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Vagif Guliyev, the directors and representatives of the leading libraries of the Republic, and the colleagues of the National Library took part in the official signing ceremony of Memorandum on mutual cooperation between the Azerbaijan National Library and the National Library of China. During the signing ceremony, Karim Tahirov again welcomed the guests and introduced them to the library community. He stressed the importance of the Memorandum and appreciated it. Director of the National Library of China Han Yongjin thanked to K.Tahirov for hospitality, and presented 5 books in Chinese to him. K.Tahirov presented a “Photo Album” Azerbaijan National Library (in Azerbaijani, english and russian languages), the map of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani cuisine (in english), Gobustan-the book of millennium (in Azerbaijani and english languages), Azerbaijani literature (poems, in english) and Karabakh (in english), Azerbaijani carpets (in english) books to the guests. In the end, the participants of the event got acquainted with literature in Chinese and regarding with China that protected in the fund of the Azerbaijan National Library.
