January 15 marks the 120th anniversary of the birth of Nazim Hikmat, who has a special place in the twentieth-century Turkish literature and has a valuable literary heritage. He gave a great impetus to the development of modern Turkish literature with his romantic, passionate and deeply meaningful works. Nazim Hikmet was both a public figure and a talented poet and playwright. However, poetry is the main line of his work, the strongest direction of his talent. The main reason why his lyrics are loved and popular not only within the borders of his homeland, but also in many countries of the world is the diversity of themes, richness of ideas and content, and the strength of his influence.

On the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the birth of Nazim Hikmat, a virtual exhibition entitled “Nazim Hikmat – 120” has been prepared by the National Library of Azerbaijan. The virtual exhibition features photos, works by Nazim Hikmat, as well as books and articles about him.
