Mehdi Huseyn, one of the founders of Azerbaijani literature, a public statesman, an eternal people's writer who dedicated his meaningful life and honorable life to his homeland and people, was born on March 22, 1909 in the II Shikhli village of Gazakh district in an intellectual family.
Mehdi Huseyin is a talented artist who perfectly knows our literature and culture, enriches our literature with artistic pearls, and reflects human thoughts and ideas in his works. "Flood", "Anger", "Scream", etc. stories, "Tarlan", "Absheron", "Black stones", "Morning", "Underground rivers flow to the sea", etc. novels, "Nizami", "Shohrat", "Sheikh Shamil", "Javanshir", "Alov", etc. He is the author of dramas, plays, and movie scripts.
Mehdi Huseyin also worked in the fields of criticism and journalism. His works have been translated into several foreign languages.
On the occasion of the 115th anniversary of the writer's birth, a large book exhibition called "People's writer Mehdi Huseyn - 115" was opened in the National Library.
In the exhibition, the works of the writer, translations from world literature and books written about him edited by him are displayed in Azerbaijani and different languages.
