Prominent literary critic, scientist, valuable intellectual, doctor of philological sciences, professor Asif Rustamli turns 70 years old.
Asif Heydar oglu Rustamli was born on February 16, 1954 in Qiyamaddinli village of Agjabedi district. He graduated from Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University) in 1982.
In 1988, he entered the Institute of Literature named after Nizami through a competition, rose from the position of chief laboratory assistant to the position of chief researcher, head of department, in 1991-1995 he was the director of the Folklore Palace scientific and cultural center (now the Folklore Institute of ANAS), 1995-1999 He worked as the head of the Scientific Publications Department, and was the head of the Press History and Publicism Department.
Asif Rustamli received the title of candidate of sciences in 1994, the scientific title of associate professor in 2009, and the scientific degree of doctor of sciences in 2011. Member of Azerbaijan Writers' Union since 1996, member of the Scientific Council of the Nizami Institute of Literature of ANAS since 2003, professor of ADMIU since 2012, member of the Dissertation Council operating under BSU since 2013, Jafar member of AYB since 2015 He is the chairman of the Jabbarli Commission.
In 2010-2017, he served as the chairman of the Institute Trade Union Committee. He was the author of 15 books, more than 350 scientific and journalistic articles and reports, the compiler of 20 books, the translator of 2 books, the editor and reviewer of numerous books, and wrote forewords to them. His scientific articles have been published abroad in Turkish, Persian, Russian, Polish and Hungarian languages. Based on his scripts, the documentaries " Günəş Şərqdən doğur (The Sun Rises from the East)", " İstiqlal fədaisi (Istiqlal Fadaisi)", " Nurlu gələcək naminə (For the sake of a bright future)" were made, and he acted as a scientific consultant for the documentary " 26 Bakı komissarı (26 Baku Commissioners)" from the series " Əfsanənin əks üzü (The Opposite of the Legend)" produced by the "Kinoproduct" Studio of Moscow.
In 1992-1996, he was the scriptwriter and presenter of the programs "Yaddaş (Memory)" and " Tarix bizə nə deyir (What History Tells Us)" on Azerbaijan Television. He taught the subjects of textual studies and the basics of editing at Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (1996-2019). He was the opponent of a number of candidate dissertations. He participated in international scientific conferences and symposiums held in Ankara, Baghdad, Tehran, Tabriz, Basra, Urmia, Warsaw, Tomsk, Elazig, Budapest, Diyarbakir, Astana and Balikesir.
Asif Rustamli received the award of Azerbaijan Cultural Association in Ankara (1994), "Special diploma" of J. Jabbarli Award Commission (2001), " Qılınc və qələm (Sword and Pen)" international literary award (2004), "Certificate" of Warsaw University (2007), Elazig (Turkey) ) governor's special award (2010), "Jafar Jabbarli Award" (2010), "Service Award to Turkish Literature" of the Turkish Literature Foundation operating in Istanbul (2013), "Decree of Honor" of the Presidium of ANAS (2014), Turkish World Research International Sciences Akademi's "Service to Turkish Literature" International Award (2014), L.N. Gumilyev Eurasian National University Certificate (2014), Azerbaijan-Turkey Friendship Association Federation Award (2014), "Agha Musa Summit" Award (2015), ANAS Nizami Institute of Literature " "Scientist of the Year" (2017) award.
Asif Heydar oglu Rustamli was awarded the scientific title of professor in 2018. Since September 2018, he has been the head of the Accreditation Department of the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts, and since March 2020, he has been a member of the Supreme Attestation Commission Collegium.
National Library prof. A traditional book exhibition featuring the works of Asif Rustamli has been opened. The exhibition presents the author's works, translated, reviewed and foreworded, compiled and edited literature in Azerbaijani and other languages.
