On March 12, trainings were started at the Training Center of the National Library of Azerbaijan regarding the introduction of the KOHA Automated Library Management System for specialists of mass libraries under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The opening ceremony was held by the director of the National Library, prof. Karim Tahirov opened and greeted the participants of the training and said that the study of the KOHA Automated Library Management System and its application in regional libraries will create an opportunity to use more than 850,000 materials of the National Library of Azerbaijan.

Khayal Mammadov, the head of the book industry department of the Ministry of Culture and publishing sector, also participated in the ceremony and expressed his opinion.

Republican Youth Library named after J. Jabbarli, Republican Children's Library named after F. Kocherli, Ganja, Lankaran, Shekishahr, Agjabedi, Agstafa, Khachmaz, Agdash, Sabirabad, Bilasuvar, Shamakhi, Astara, Jalilabad, Lerik, Masalli, Yardimli District Centralized Libraries participated in the trainings. A total of 18 specialists participate in the system.

Note that the purpose of the training is to support the implementation of KOHA, an open source, integrated library system with an active, rapidly developing and well-structured code base, user interface configurable and adaptable, in public libraries under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The trainings will continue until March 16.
