On February 22, the National Library hosted an event dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of the poet of independence - Ahmed Javad, as well as the presentation of the books "Ahmed Javad: Bibliography" and "Selected Poems of Ahmed Javad". The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) and the National Library.

During the event, the speakers noted that the well-known educator and public figure Ahmad Javad is the founder of Azerbaijani literature, culture and history. The brilliant poet is the author of not only the national anthem of Azerbaijan, but also the first military march.

Both books, dedicated to the prominent representative of Azerbaijani literature, Ahmed Javad, who made a huge contribution to the struggle for the national independence of the Azerbaijani people, can be considered valuable cultural monuments. During the presentation, it was noted that the book "Ahmed Javad: Bibliography" is the first fundamental bibliographic index about the poet.

The book "Selected poems of Ahmed Javad" translated by the famous poet and translator Kenan Charbogan, published in Ankara under the organization of TURKSOY, will play a big role in popularizing the famous poet's poems in Turkey.

At the end of the event, the guests got acquainted with the extensive book exhibition "People's Poet of Independence Ahmed Javad" and the electronic information base "Poet of Independence - Ahmed Javad", prepared by the staff of the National Library. It should be noted that the information base is presented to users in three languages (Azerbaijani, Russian and English).
