Jafar Jabbarli was born on March 20, 1899 in the village of Khizi, Baku. Since 1915, he started writing lyrical and satirical poems, stories and dramatic works. Jabbarli's creativity covers a twenty-year historical period between 1915-1934. "Nasreddin Shah", written in 1916, is the first historical play of J. Jabbarli.
Jafar Jabbarli is the first Azerbaijani playwright who brought Nuru Pasha to fiction with the historical tragedy "Trablis War".
