Jafar Jabbarli, an outstanding playwright, poet, prose writer, theater critic, translator, screenwriter, journalist, director, honored art worker, who provided exceptional services in the development of Azerbaijani literature, culture, and art, was born on March 20, 1899 in the village of Khizy, Baku province, in a poor peasant family. .
Jabbarli wrote his first poems, stories and dramas in 1915-1916. "Faithful Series, or Laughter in Tears", "Pale Flowers", "Nasreddin Shah", "Trablis War" or "Star", "Conquest of Edirne", "Baku War", "Aydin", "Seville", " Ogtay Eloglu", "Almaz" and other plays are masterpieces of the playwright.
On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the birth of Jafar Jabbarli, a large book exhibition called "Jafar Jabbarli - 125" was organized in the National Library. In the exhibition, books about the author's works, translations, life and creativity are displayed in Azerbaijani and foreign languages.
