November 20 is Aghdam City Day. Aghdam city day is celebrated for the first time in Azerbaijan.

As a result of the military aggression of Armenia, our ancient historical lands, which were under occupation for nearly 30 years, were freed from military and political occupation in the 44-day Patriotic War, and every day leading to the glorious Victory was written in golden letters in the history of Azerbaijan.

According to the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev dated July 31, 2023 on perpetuating the historical victory achieved in the Patriotic War and establishing the days of liberated cities from occupation, November 20 is celebrated as "Aghdam City Day". The establishment of this significant day is related to the date of liberation of Agdam city from the occupation of Armenian armed forces.

In this regard, the staff of the National Library prepared a virtual exhibition called "20 November Aghdam City Day".

The decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the new division of economic regions in the Republic of Azerbaijan, photos, articles about the city of Agdam published in periodicals, books about the victory of Karabakh, and the history of the city of Agdam are displayed in the virtual exhibition.
