On November 1, at the National Library, a round table devoted to the scientific discussion of the book "History of the Patriotic War. The Factor of Personality " published jointly by the Baku City Executive Authority with the Institute of History named after A.A. Bakikhanov of ANAS  which dedicated to the anniversary of our historic Victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku City Executive Authority and the National Library.

First, the dear memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War was commemorated with a minute of silence.

The director of the National Library, professor Karim Tahirov, who opened the event, welcomed the guests and participants and said that the events in the book dedicated to the history of the 44-day Patriotic War were narrated from the words of the participants of the event, and that the book was published in Russian and Turkish languages in addition to the Azerbaijani language in order to reach the world community and also, he said that it was decided to print in other foreign languages. The speaker thanked the leadership of the Baku City Executive Authority for creating the book and said that this book would be exhibited at more than 10 international exhibitions jointly with the Ministry of Culture during the year in order to popularize, and that the full text of the electronic version would be brought to the attention of readers around the world through the reserve fund of the library and the website.

Eldar Azizov, the head of the Baku City Executive Authority, the head of the project, made a speech and said that this book is one of the first attempts to generalize the history of the war. The book covers all stages from the beginning of the war to the present day. The defeat in the First Karabakh War, its causes, and the Victory in the Patriotic War were investigated in detail by the participants in the process of preparing the book.

Eldar Azizov said that this book, which was written directly by the participants of the process, conveys reality to readers without slogans and emotions, and the English version of the scientific-popular work is already ready.

The speaker noted that the Glorious Victory in the Patriotic War was achieved thanks to the genius intellect and wise leadership ability of the head of the country, Ilham Aliyev, during the official visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Georgia last month, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili called Ilham Aliyev a leader and an elder, and this is an indicator of the growing influence of the country's leader in the world.

"As contemporaries of this era, we must analyze the truths of the war and convey them correctly to future generations. From this point of view, the idea of preparing the book "History of the Patriotic War. The Factor of Personality " was born, and today that book is presented to the general public," he said.

According to him, the book, intended for a wide audience, was presented to state institutions, higher and secondary educational institutions, libraries, leading media in Azerbaijan. Probably, the Armenians living in these countries will also learn the truths of the Second Karabakh War through this book.

President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, member of the Milli Majlis, academician Isa Habibbayli said in his speech that if we look at our centuries-old history, there is no analogue of the Karabakh victory, Mr. President has written his name in the history of Azerbaijan with this historic victory, and said that the victory is a source of national pride for our people, he thanked everyone who contributed to the creation of this book which fully appreciates the victory. He called the book the first monographic research work reflecting the 44-day war and emphasized that the war is not viewed as just a war in the book, and that the war is evaluated against the background of Armenian territorial claims.

The speaker noted that in this book, which is the first scientific chronicle of the Karabakh victory, the strategy and army building of the Great Leader to solve the Karabakh problem were evaluated, the analytical approach of the authors of the book to the activity of Mr. President, the events and processes were scientifically revealed by photographs and documents, the issue of the war ending in victory due to the unity of the people was justified. He expressed great gratitude to the research scientists of the Institute of History named after A.A. Bakikhanov, and emphasized that the book will serve as a fundamental source for new works that will appear in the future.

Akif Marifli, head of the book industry department of the Ministry of Culture, PhD in history, said that competitions on patriotism were organized by the ministry, new works appeared, as well as the multilingual edition of the discussed book was particularly important in the direction of its promotion that it will be displayed at the international exhibition to be held in Turkey at the end of the year and at other international exhibitions, and thanked those who contributed for the valuable work.

General Director of the Caucasian Studies Institute of ANAS, member of Milli Majlis, corresponding member of ANAS, Musa Gasimli, called the book reflecting the victory thanks to the foresight of the leader of our powerful state, not only for today, but for the future, and expressed his gratitude to the initiators and authors of the project.

The scientific editor of the book, the general director of the Institute of History named after A.A. Bakikhanov of ANAS, professor Karim Shukurov, said that the project leader interpreted the concept of the book objectively in his speech, and called the 44-day war the celebration of Azerbaijani military art and said that the main character and main author of the work based on the fundamental concept is both the head of state and our commander-in-chief Mr. President.

Member of the Milli Majlis, PhD in historical sciences, professor Anar Iskenderov emphasized that during the creation of the book and the preparation of the plan-prospectus, a comprehensive conceptual approach was put forward, that the book was addressed to a wide readership and young people, and that the importance of the book in conveying the truths of Karabakh to the world was taken into account.

Rector of UNEC, Professor Adalat Muradov, noted the special importance of this book for students and young people, and highlighted the important role of our honorable President in achieving the historical Victory, drawing attention to the fact that this book is valuable as an example for future generations, considered it important to take measures for its wider promotion among university students.

Other speakers emphasized that the Victory in the Patriotic War was won thanks to the intellect, wise policy and genius leadership skills of the head of our state, that thanks to President Ilham Aliyev's leadership in Azerbaijan, a strong economy was created in the country and a powerful army was created based on this economy, the book will play an important role in the wide promotion of the glorious Victory won in the Patriotic War.

During the event, the electronic database "Victory Day is our Glorious History" (http://anl.az/el/emb/Zefer_gunu/index.html), prepared by the employees of the National Library of Azerbaijan, was presented to the participants. It was reported that the electronic database consists of sections such as Official Documents", "The Second Karabakh War is one of the most honorable pages of the history of Azerbaijan", "List of our cities, towns and villages freed from enemy occupation", "Martyrs of the II Karabakh War", "Publications", "Perpetuation of his memory", "Orders and medals awarded to war participants", "Photo gallery" and "Video gallery".

In the continuation of the event, member of the Milli Majlis Aydın Mirzazade; Chairman of the Azerbaijan Press Council, Deputy Chairman of the Union of Writers Rashad Majid; Professor Elchin Ahmadov, dean of the Faculty of Political Administration of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, The dean of the history faculty of BSU, professor Ibrahim Zeynalov and others made a speech.
