This year, September 18 marks the 135th anniversary of the birth of the prominent Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibayli. The great Azerbaijani composer, founder of the Azerbaijan national opera, great musicologist, publicist and pedagogue Uzeyir Hajibayov have had invaluable contribution to the development of Azerbaijani music art.

Every year, September 18 is celebrated as “Uzeyir Music Day”. In this regard, the staff of the National Library has developed an electronic database entitled “Uzeyir Hajibayli: The Founder of Contemporary Azerbaijani Professional Music and National Opera”. The Electronic Database consists of the following sections: “Official Documents”, “Life and Work”, “Main Dates of Life and Work”, “Prominent people’s thoughts about Uzeyir Hajibayli”, “Works”, “About the composer”, “Perpetuating the memory”, “Awards”, “Filmography”, “Photo Gallery” and “Video Gallery”.
