The presentation ceremony of the book "Architectural elements of Azerbaijan" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, jointly published by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan and the National Library of Azerbaijan, was held in the Italian hall of the National Art Museum named after R. Mustafayev.

In his speech, Karim Tahirov stated that in the middle of the 20th century, academician Mikayil Useynov, a prominent Azerbaijani architect, researched national architectural monuments for the first time, and with the initiative shown regarding their application, materials related to various monuments were collected by researchers at that time, several albums were prepared and printed in limited copies under different titles. He noted that half a century later, this unfinished work was restarted, concluded with a different approach and design, and this remarkable work was revealed.

The speaker said that the presented new book talks about the national architectural elements belonging to the Azerbaijani people, which our ancestors carved on the architectural monuments of Azerbaijan with a very ancient history 7-10 thousand years ago, and their etymology and historical testimony. He emphasized that during the first and second periods of Azerbaijan's leadership, architecture and the field of architecture were always in the focus of attention of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, and pointed out that the architect of our independent, bright and fast-moving Azerbaijan is also considered a Great Leader.

In his speech, the scientific editor of the book, Honored architect, professor Elbay Gasimzade, called the book the best tool for imprinting the national architectural style on memories.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli, President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, said that national architectural style, architectural genres, examples of interior design, small architectural forms are explained in detail in the presented book.

Member of Milli Mejlis, academician Nizami Jafarov, first secretary of UAW (Union of Azerbaijani Writers), People's writer Chingiz Abdullayev, rector of AzDMIU, prof. Gulchohra Mammadova spoke about the book.

At the end, the honorable architect Khalil Jafarov, the author of this exquisite book in Azerbaijani and English languages, is mentioned. He valued the national elements used in the architecture of Azerbaijan not only as a product of engineering imagination, but also as an example of art, with both their functional aspects and artistic-aesthetic effect, and to preserve the architectural heritage created by our people over the centuries in modern architectural works and at the same time to meet today's requirements. He highlighted the need to know the elements of national architecture in depth in order to use them properly.
