On May 19, a presentation ceremony of the book "Sabir Rustamkhanli. Bibliography" published by the National Library from the series "Prominent personalities of Azerbaijan" was held under the joint organization of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Library.

Director of the National Library Professor Karim Tahirov opened the event and greeted the guests. He emphasized that today is a very nice meeting-they have gathered for the presentation the bibliography book "Sabir Rustamkhanli" prepared by the National Library from the series "Prominent personalities of Azerbaijan", dedicated to the long creative path of Sabir Rustamkhanli, the people's poet, social and political figure, as well as the monograph "Folk poet Sabir Rustamkhanli" newly published by the Nizami Institute of Literature.

The director emphasized that Sabir Rustamkhanli is one of our intellectuals who are at the forefront of the National Freedom Movement. Karim Takhirov spoke about the broad creative path of Sabir Rustamkhanli and noted that he captured all his emotions, dreams of freedom, civic duty, anxiety for the fate of his people in his works. Giving information about the compiled bibliographic index, the director emphasized that this tool is the first fundamental bibliography about the writer. The bibliography includes Sabir Rustamkhanli's books, works published in periodicals, textbooks, anthologies, scientific-critical and journalistic articles, translations, books edited by him, works published in Russian and other languages, as well as all publications reflecting the writer's life and creativity, socio-political activity.

At the end of his speech, the director emphasized that tomorrow is the birthday of the valuable intellectual Sabir Rustamkhanli and wished him long life, new creative successes and a beautiful life. The member of the Milli Majlis, vice-president of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, academician Isa Habibbeyli gave an introductory speech and first of all personally expressed his gratitude to the National Library and Mr. Karim for organizing such an event dedicated to the life of Sabir Rustamkhanli. The academician emphasized that on the occasion of Sabir Rustamkhanli's jubilee, the Nizami Institute of Literature also published the monograph "People's poet Sabir Rustamkhanli".

He noted that Sabir Rustamkhanli is a poet who has won the trust of the entire readership. The main line of his creativity is the poetry of citizenship, the spirit of national independence, ideas of independence, statehood constitute. Academician said in his speech that I can proudly say that Sabir Rustamkhanli made great contributions to the national independence struggle of Azerbaijan. He combined the poet's ideas with his political ideas by acting as both a poet and a member of parliament. Even today, Sabir Rustamkhanli successfully continues his activities on both fronts  such as literature and political level.

During his speech, Academician I. Habibbeyli talked about the contents of the book "Sabir Rustamkhanli. Bibliography" published by the National Library, the comprehensiveness of the topic, as well as the size of its volume. And in the end, he congratulated Sabir Rustamkhanli on his birthday.

Corresponding member of ANAS, literary critic, professor Tehran Alishanoglu made a speech and emphasized that bibliographies are an important publication for researchers. He noted that a few years ago, we planned the work of writing monographs and books dedicated to the life and creativity of prominent figures of Azerbaijani literature from the earliest times to the present day. Our first monograph from this series - Azerbaijani literature of the period of independence is dedicated to the outstanding representative of our modern literature, People's Poet Sabir Rustamkhanli. T. Alishanoglu, who gave information about the monograph, said that we tried to fully cover the life and creativity of Sabir Rustamkhanli in the book.

The deputy chairman of the Milli Majlis, professor Fazail Ibrahimli, made a speech and expressed his gratitude to the National Library for organizing such a wonderful event about Sabir Rustamkhanli. He noted that the creativity of Sabir Rustamkhanli can be divided into 3 periods. The first stage covers the 70s, during which the poet's qualities of Sabir Rustamkhanli emerge. The second stage can be considered a new stage in the poet's creativity. At this stage, new features of his creativity are reflected in such works as "Ganja Gate", "Blood Memory", "Thank You, My Mother Language". And finally, in the third stage, he is in front of the line of fire of Turkish poetry of Azerbaijan. He said that Sabir Rustamkhanli always lived and created with humanitarian ideas, his heart always beat for his people and nation. Finally, at the third stage, he put himself in the line of fire of the Azerbaijani-Turkish poetry.

People's writer Chingiz Abdullayev, the first secretary of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, congratulated Sabir Rustamkhanli on his birthday on behalf of the Writers' Union. During his speech, he talked about Sabir Rustamkhanli's public activities, courageous speeches and memories related to him. He emphasized that there are four folk poets in Azerbaijani literature, one of whom is Sabir Rustamkhanli. Speaking about the 44-day Patriotic War and the skill of our soldiers, C. Abdullayev said that they got their love for the motherland and their devotion to the motherland from the works of our writers and poets, just like us.

In the continuation of the event, the chairman of the management board of Azerbaijan State Translation Center, People's writer Afaq Masud; Honored Scientist, Professor Gazanfar Pashayev; poet Mammad Ismayil; Director of the Atatürk Center in Azerbaijan, Member of Parliament Nizami Jafarov; The editor-in-chief of "Azernashr" Alovsat Agalarov and others spoke.

In the end, the People's Poet Sabir Rustamkhanli expressed his gratitude to everyone who participated in the event, the organizers, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the National Library, and Karim Tahirov personally. By mentioning the bibliography, its sections, coverage he expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed.

At the end, the participants got acquainted with a wide exhibition of books preserved in the fund of the National Library, covering the life and creativity of Sabir Rustamkhanli.
