On April 06, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Serzhan Abdykarimov visited the National Library. Director of the National Library Prof. Karim Tahirov welcomed the guest and said that he was pleased to see him at the National Library.
Mr. Serzhan Abdykarimov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Azerbaijan, expressed his gratitude to Karim Tahirov and said that he’s very pleased to be at the National Library. Mr. Ambassador said that it was very gratifying that the threat of a pandemic is almost over. Speaking about the socio-political situation in Kazakhstan, he said that, thankfully, now everything is back to normal. The ambassador also noted that he had visited Shusha and got acquainted with the situation there. He noted that after his visit to Shusha, he decided to join the book-collecting campaign "Let's go to Karabakh with books!", jointly implemented by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Library.
Then, Prof.Karim Tahirov briefed the guests on the activities of the National Library and spoke about the projects carried out by the library over the past year.
“It’s a great pleasure for us that the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Azerbaijan has joined the book-collecting campaign,” said Prof.Karim Tahirov. The Director informed Mr. Ambassador that a large number of our intellectuals, writers and poets, publishers and all citizens have joined the project.
During the meeting, the issue of creating an electronic database of works by Kazakh writers in the Azerbaijani language, a joint project of the Azerbaijan National Library and the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Azerbaijan, was also discussed.
