On November 22, director of Egyptian Cultural Centre Dr. Ahmed Sami Elaydy and Editor-in-chief of Egyptian newspaper “Literature news” Tarik Al Tahir Hinfi had been at the National Library.

Director of the National Library professor Karim Tahirov received the guests.

The necessity of further expanding of relations between the National Libraries of those two countries was stressed at the meeting.

Speaking about the relations with Egyptian National Library and Alexandria library, the director talked about mutual exchange of books with both of those libraries, and joint projects with the Egyptian Cultural Centre.

After giving brief information about “Literature news” newspaper that spread out all Arabian World, the guest, the editor in chief of the newspaper invited the Azerbaijan National Library to cooperate, and advised to send information about the library to the newspaper.

Familiarizing the guests with the library, deputy director Adiba Ismayilova also familiarized the guests with the new project of the library – Open Library. The questions of the guests were answered in detail.

Editor-in-chief wrote his wishes on the “Memory book” at the Open Library.

Azerbaijan National Library “Photo album” (in Azerbaijani, Russian, and English), a map of the cultural objects, an information book about Baku, “Azerbaijani carpets in the world collections” (in Azerbaijani and English), and “Azerbaijani cuisine” (in English) books were presented to the guest.
