On June 14, an event was held in connection with the National Salvation Day.

During the event, it was said that some historical days lay the foundation for great beginnings that determine the future of the nation. June 15, 1993, which entered our history as National Salvation Day, is the most important of such historical days. Thus, the coming to power of National leader Heydar Aliyev at that time saved Azerbaijan from a great trouble - the danger of disintegration. June 15 is the real Salvation Day for those who love their homeland and people, who experienced the pain and horrors of difficult days, and those who saw the events, the history of the life-and-death struggle of Azerbaijani statehood. Heydar Aliyev's indomitable will, foresight, and selflessness made him the leader of Azerbaijanis of the whole world, and his life path became an example of service to his homeland.

It was noted that one of the most important services of the great leader Heydar Aliyev to Azerbaijan was his recommendation of a student whom he believed in as much as himself, a personality who passed his school of life, our respected President Ilham Aliyev, to lead his people after him. And the history that we have witnessed proved it once again that the Great Leader was not wrong in his choice and Mr. President brought great success to Azerbaijan and the 44-day Patriotic War can be considered the peak of this success.

As long as the independent state of Azerbaijan stands, the dear memory of Heydar Aliyev will live forever in the memory of our people and will never be forgotten.
