On October 4, within the framework of the 10th Baku International Book Fair dedicated to the 530th anniversary of the birth of the great Azerbaijani poet and philosopher Muhammad Fuzuli, the opening ceremony of the "Hungarian Literature Corner" was held at the National Library of Azerbaijan.

The event was attended by Judit Gerencser, Deputy Director of the Hungarian National Library, Professor Konstantin Gamsakhurdia, Director of the Georgian National Parliamentary Library, and Monika Ferföldi, First Secretary for Education and Culture at the Embassy of Hungary in Azerbaijan.

The ceremony was opened by Professor Karim Tahirov, Director of the National Library of Azerbaijan, who welcomed the guests. He noted that the opening of the Hungarian Literature Corner is part of the international cooperation initiatives, emphasizing the importance of such literary corners for fostering cultural exchange and offering readers direct access to Hungary’s literary resources.

Judit Gerencser highlighted the role of libraries in building bridges between nations and emphasized that the Hungarian Literature Corner would serve as an important step in promoting Hungarian culture and literature in Azerbaijan. She also announced that in the coming year, an "Azerbaijani Literature Corner" would be opened in Hungary.

Professor Konstantin Gamsakhurdia praised the long-standing historical ties between Georgia and Azerbaijan and expressed his joy that a permanent Georgian literature corner had been established in the National Library of Azerbaijan, noting the importance of mutual cooperation between the two countries' libraries.

At the end of the ceremony, the guests were presented with books, including "Salam Azerbaijan", "The National Library of Azerbaijan", and "Azerbaijan Carpets in World Collections", and Judit Gerencser was also gifted with a traditional Azerbaijani kelagai.
