On December 15, presentation ceremony of “Historical weapons of Azerbaijan” book was held at the National Library.

Opening the event director of the National Library professor Karim Tahirov greeted the participants of the event, and gave the turn to the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Azerbaijan Republic Adalat Valiyev. Speaking about the international mass events held by the Ministry in recent years and about the importance of the book he noted that the book would be translated into a few languages and would be published in the countries of the world by the Ministry.

Then, in his speech Member of Parliament, writer-publicist Agil Abbas told that book had a great importance in nowadays, noted that it’s important to translate the book into Azerbaijani and send it to military units, and offered to publish the book in mass circulation.

Colonel Mehman Suleymanov, authors Adil Minbashi and Azer Mammadov noted that research work was the result of tense and long-lasting search, and spoke about investigation of our national weapons in foreign museums and their certification issues, and stressed the importance of delivering the book to the world libraries.

Leading scientific worker of History and Ethnography Institute of ANAS, doctor of Philosophy Khalyaddin Khalili, Chairwoman of the Azerbaijani-Turkish Women’s Association Tanzila Rustamkhanli highly appreciated the book in terms of upbringing the youth in military and patriotic spirit and learning their historical background, and spoke about the importance of teaching it in secondary schools.

Poetess Zamina Khinali thanked to the authors of the book, and noted the importance of promoting the book.

In the end professor Karim Tahirov expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the publication of such a valuable book.
