A roundtable discussion on "Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan cultural and humanitarian friendly relations" was organized on April 25 in the National Library of Azerbaijan named after M.F. Akhundzade within the framework of Days of Kyrgyz Culture held in our country.

Well-known figures of science, culture and art of the two countries took part in the meeting moderated by Murad Huseynov, Deputy Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan, and Timurlan Ajimaliyev, First Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan.

During the conversation, the importance of further deepening of cooperation between the national libraries of the two countries in book exchange, cinema, theater and other fields of culture was emphasized.

Chairman of the Kyrgyz Union of Diplomats Janil Tumenbayeva said that in the era of globalization, the Turkish people should promote themselves to the world by protecting their culture and national values. He also said that many Azerbaijanis live in Kyrgyzstan and their diaspora organization is successfully operating.

Academician Isa Habibbayli, President of ANAS, spoke about the role of Great leader Heydar Aliyev in the further development of friendly relations between our countries. He said that in 1995, Heydar Aliyev called the Turkic peoples to unity during his speech at the anniversary of the "Manas" saga in Bishkek, and today President Ilham Aliyev continues this path successfully.

Eldar Aitmatov, the head of the Foundation named after Chingiz Aitmatov, spoke about his father's attachment to Azerbaijan, his relations with his friends there, and shared his memories.

The Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Milli Majlis, Fazil Mustafa, academicians Kamal Abdulla, Nizami Jafarov, historian-scientist, diplomat Hasan Hasanov emphasized in their speeches that the "Manas" saga is as familiar to the Azerbaijani people as the "Dade Gorgud" saga.

Director of the National History Museum of Kyrgyzstan Jıldız Bakanova, Director of the Kyrgyz State Philharmonic named after T.Satilganov, People's Artist Kyrgyzbay Osmonev, Rector of the National Conservatory of Kyrgyzstan Muratbek Begaliyev, Chairman of the National Commission for State Language and Language Policy Melis Murataliyev and Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic Medetkan Sherimkulov spoke about the literature of Turkic peoples and they said that the mutual promotion of culture will play an exceptional role in bringing our countries even closer together.

The guests who highly appreciated the installation of Chingiz Aitmatov's statue in Baku said that the works of famous Azerbaijani composers Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Fikret Amirov and Arif Malikov are played regularly in their country, and the film "Arshin Mal Alan" and its theatrical version were received with great love by the Kyrgyz.

At the meeting, it was also brought to the attention of the Kyrgyz community that the Victory of Azerbaijan in the Patriotic War, the liberation of our lands from long-term occupation, and the full guarantee of our country's sovereignty were the reasons for the joy of the Kyrgyz community.

In the end, Kyrgyz publications were donated to the National Library of Azerbaijan.
