On December 29, the National Library hosted an event named “31 December is the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis”.

Director of the National Library prof.Karim Tahirov welcomed the guests and congratulated the staff of the National Library and everyone on the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis. “This is one of the most significant days bestowed to the history of the Azerbaijani people by the great leader Heydar Aliyev. Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis is celebrated in more than 70 countries all around the world” he mentioned. Prof.Karim Tahirov also added that First Congress of World Azerbaijanis was held in 2001 with the participation of the great leader Heydar Aliyev. As a result of the perspicacious policy of Heydar Aliyev, activities of the diaspora organizations have been further expanded, and joint events were organized in association with the embassies of our country abroad in order to convey the realities of Azerbaijan to the world.

In his speech, prof.Karim Tahirov noted that 2019 will be remembered for very significant events that important for both our people and state, and under the leadership of the president Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan Republic will continue to prosper and achieve great success.

In the end, participants of the event viewed the book exhibition named “31 December is the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis”.
