This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the International Organization of Turkish Culture - TURKSOY. On July 12, 1993, at a meeting held in Almaty with the participation of the ministers of culture of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Türkiye and Turkmenistan, an agreement was signed on the establishment of the "Joint Management of Turkish Culture and Arts" (TURKSOY). Since 2009, the institution has been called the International Organization of Turkish Culture. The secretariat of the organization is located in Ankara (Türkiye).

Azerbaijan closely participates in the activities of the organization. TURKSOY has implemented numerous joint projects related to our country. The organization's "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" project is being implemented in Azerbaijan for the second time this year. In 2016, the city of Sheki bore this name. In 2023, the city of Shusha continues the mission of "cultural capital of the Turkish world".

On October 15, a traditional book exhibition called "Literature of the Turkic world (dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of TURKSOY) was presented to users in the National Library of Azerbaijan.

Books of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, publications of TURKSOY from 6 countries that are members of TURKSOY from the fund of the National Library are displayed at the exhibition.
