On September 27, an event related to "September 27 - Memorial Day" was held at the National Library of Azerbaijan. The event was opened by the director of the National Library, Professor Karim Tahirov. First, the dear memory of our martyrs who died for the liberation of Azerbaijan lands was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Prof. Karim Tahirov spoke about the righteous struggle of our brave, brave, heroic persons who rose up and fought for our lands at the cost of their lives and blood in the Patriotic War, which began 3 years ago, on September 27, 2020, under the leadership of Mr. President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and lasted for 44 days. .

In his speech, the speaker talked about the local anti-terrorist operation carried out by the Azerbaijani Army a few days ago and the great victory achieved. He informed the participants of the event that the people of Azerbaijan took up arms for their rightful cause on September 27, 2020, and that the heroic persons of Azerbaijan liberated our lands that had been under occupation for 30 years. The director noted that our lands have already been cleared of the hated enemy, and that Azerbaijan is the real owner of its ancestral lands. He said that unlike the enemy, the Azerbaijani soldier behaves humanely towards the civilian population, the events will soon end, and our people will restore life there in peace.

The director also said that at the 6th meeting of the Board of Directors of the National Libraries of OIC member countries, which took place recently, 927 libraries with 4,600,000 books and manuscripts remained in the occupied territories as a result of the military aggression of Armenia and were burned and destroyed. On behalf of the national libraries of the OIC member countries, He pointed out that he proposed to send a joint application to UNESCO and that the proposal was supported and accepted.

During his speech, the Director said that many Martyrs were given in our 44-day War of Justice, that we are indebted to them for today, even if hundreds of years pass, the people of Azerbaijan will never forget their Martyrs, their memories will be remembered with respect, and it is the duty of the National Library to promote the books written about them. At the end of his speech, the director said that today, under the leadership of our Supreme Commander-in-Chief Muzaffar, Azerbaijan is known all over the world as a victorious state, and our people are a proud nation.
