The National Library has published the bibliography "Lotfi Zadeh" from the "Prominent personalities of Azerbaijan" series

February 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Professor Lotfi Zadeh, a world-famous scientist, the founder of the theory of fuzzy logic, an honorary member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, signed the Decree on the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the great scientist. Based on that decree and the Action Plan of the Ministry of Culture, the National Library of Azerbaijan named after M.F. Akhundzade has published the bibliography "Lotfi Zadeh" from the "Prominent personalities of Azerbaijan" series.

Lotfi Zadeh is one of the first Azerbaijanis who made a revolution in world science with his theory of fuzzy logic and fuzzy sets and rose to the peak of genius during his lifetime. The theories of the scientist, who is named alongside Aristotle, Albert Einstein, Norbert Wiener, Werner Heisenberg, and Helen Siborg, have penetrated all fields of mathematics, cybernetics, informatics and computing technology, played an important role in the implementation of space programs in the United States, in the production of photo-video devices in Japan,as well as in the creation of super-new, fifth and sixth generation computers.

Lotfi Zadeh is one of the most cited scientists worldwide. Scientific schools and laboratories created by him have been successfully operating in several countries for more than half a century. Lotfi Zadeh, who proudly declares that he is an Azerbaijani and whose heart always beats with his native country, was awarded the "Friendship" order, one of the highest awards of the Republic of Azerbaijan, for his incomparable services in the development of science and technology, as well as in the establishment of intercultural dialogue.

"Lotfi Zadeh" bibliography compiled by the National Library of Azerbaijan from the "Prominent personalities of Azerbaijan" series is the first fundamental bibliography dedicated to this outstanding personality-Lotfi Zadeh [Lutfali Rahim oglu Alasgarzadeh]  is a world-renowned scientist, the founder of the theory of fuzzy logic,Honorary member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, and professor.

Misir Mardanov corresponding member of ANAS, doctor of physics-mathematical sciences, professor wrote a preface to the bibliography entitled "Founder of fuzzy logic theory - Lotfi Zadeh".

The 607-page bibliography contains rich materials related to the works, life and creativity of the outstanding scientist, the main dates of his life and activities, the opinions of prominent personalities about him, official documents, as well as the publications of the scientist preserved in the world's richest libraries.

The materials are given in Azerbaijani, Russian, English and other foreign languages. In the bibliographic index, the materials are grouped according to the chronological principle, and alphabetical order is arranged inside.

The literature collected in the "Lotfi Zadeh world national libraries" and "Lotfi Zadeh world university libraries" sections of the bibliography is a clear proof of the wide spread of the scientist's scientific heritage all over the world.

The bibliography is intended for scientists, researchers, librarian-bibliographers, students and a wide readership engaged in mathematics, cybernetics, informatics, and computer technology.

In order to facilitate the use of the index, at the end of the bibliography there are alphabetical indexes of Lotfi Zadeh's works and authors that wrote about him in Azerbaijani and other languages.
