On the 13th of April, a presentation ceremony of the book "The Ascent of God" was held at the National Library, which was jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Library that was authored by researcher-journalist Elkhan Salahov, tells about the war crimes committed by the Armenian armed forces during the occupation of Kalbajar region.

Director of the National Library Professor Karim Tahirov opened the event and greeted the participants. The director emphasized that unfortunately, we  were having the occupation day of Kalbajar in April for years, but now Kalbajar is completely free as a result of the successful foreign policy of our President Ilham Aliyev. This is an indicator that Azerbaijan is winning in both diplomatic negotiations and on the battlefield.

Tahirov noted that the book we are presenting today, unfortunately, talks about the painful days of Kalbajar. The life struggle of those who were besieged during the occupation of Kalbajar is reflected in the book " The Ascent of God ". The book tells about the war crimes committed by the Armenian armed forces during the occupation of Kalbajar region in 1993. He emphasized that this book is important because what happened to besieged soldiers and civilians, massacres and acts of vandalism committed by Armenians are conveyed to the readers based on the memories of witnesses. During his speech, the director also said that these books are a gift for future generations. Publication, promotion, and translation of such books play a very important role in conveying the happenings to the world. At the end of his speech, he said, "I believe that the book "The Ascent of God" will be read and referred to throughout history.

Honored journalist, director of "Azernashr" Alovsat Agalarov made a speech and expressed his gratitude to the National Library, which is considered the temple of books, and its management for holding the presentation of such a profound book. He noted that April has always been the most painful month for Kalbajar. For nearly 30 years, Kalbajar was under occupation, and the people of Kalbajar were far from their homeland.

Thank goodness Kalbajar is free now. He emphasized that each chapter of the book with his presentation is a separate topic of work. In addition to the memories of individual witnesses, the book also contains information about the martyrs of Kalbajar. Also, he noted that hundreds of books have been written on this topic, all of which are chronicles. And he expressed his gratitude to the author of the book, researcher-journalist Elkhan Salahov, and wished that his work would continue in this direction.

Chairman of the Azerbaijan Press Council Aflatun Amashov emphasized in his speech that even though years have passed, words and books will always remain. He also spoke about the content of the book "Bloody Kaha" written by Elkhan Salahov, mass murders committed in Bashlibel village, and the insidious policy of Armenians. At the end of his speech, he thanked the management of the National Library for organizing the event and wished the author creative success in this direction.

Rashad Majid, Honored Culture Worker, Editor-in-Chief of "525th Newspaper", Vice-Chairman of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union spoke about the issue of publishing books about our historical Victory. He emphasized that during the 44-day war, many examples of literature were written on this topic. Then he spoke about the content of the book "The Ascent of God" authored by Elkhan Salahov and said that this book is the result of the author's hard and persistent work. The quality of the book comes from the author's professionalism as a journalist. And he emphasized that dozens of films and novels can be created using the theme of each chapter of this book.

In the continuation of the event, Habib Misirov, chairman of YAP Kalbajar regional organization; reserve colonel, former commander Balay Nasibov;head of energy enterprise Arif Suleymanov; Agil Asadov, associate professor of the National Aviation Academy; Member of Azerbaijan Writers Union, writer, publicist Gurban Yaguboglu; teacher Sabir Mirzayev; witnesses Rizvan Rzayev; Shahlar Muradov; Elman Hajiyev; Bakhtiyar Shabiyev and others spoke.

In the end, the author of the book, researcher-journalist Elkhan Salahov spoke and expressed his gratitude to the management of the National Library for organizing the event, as well as to everyone who participated in the event.
