On December 20, an event was held in the National Library in connection with the 130th anniversary of the birth of the People's Artist of Azerbaijan, prominent style artist Ahmet Bakikhanov. The director of the National Library, professor Karim Tahirov, opened the event and greeted the guests, saying that this year marks the 130th anniversary of the birth of the prominent representative of Azerbaijani musical culture, master tarzan and skilled pedagogue, People's Artist Ahmad Bakikhanov, and on October 21, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev He signed the Decree "On the celebration of the 130th anniversary of Ahmad Bakikhanov". In this regard, noting that the National Library of Azerbaijan organized this event in accordance with the plan of events approved by the Ministry of Culture, the director made valuable contributions to the treasure of musical art of Azerbaijan with his wide and diverse creativity, the mughams he played, as well as the songs, colors and classifications he composed are bright examples of art. Ahmed Bakikhanov, who holds a unique and worthy place in the gold fund of our music, said that a whole generation of our outstanding tar singers and virtuoso performers were the students of Ahmed Bakikhanov, who taught mugham at the Azerbaijan State Conservatory and later at the Azerbaijan State Music School from the 1930s, and was a member of the Folk Instruments Ensemble at the Azerbaijan Radio. He spoke about the great role of teacher Ahmet, who is the organizer and leader, in the history of our national musical culture.
People's artist Ramiz Guliyev thanked the library administration for organizing the jubilee event of the great artist in the National Library, in this sacred hearth, and for the invitation, and said that we should not forget the heritage and history left to us by Ahmet Bakikhanov, the most beautiful national musical instrument. He said that one of the pillars of the tar was Sadigjan, others were Gurban Pirimov and Mirza Mansurov, and one was Ahmed Bakikhanov. Recalling that he was hired in 1964 with the ensemble created at the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic, and remembering the event that happened during the competition, and stating that the ensemble of folk musical instruments, which was the organizer and leader of Ahmet Bakikhanov for many years, is still named after him, the People's Artist Ahmet teacher's jubilee is celebrated at a high level by our state. He called it an event and drew attention to the fact that he served the culture of Azerbaijan with all his existence.
When people's artist Zamiq Aliyev was talking about tar, the first was our immortal poet Mikayil Mushfig's "Sing, tar, read tar!" Who will forget you?" He said that he started speaking with his verses, and said that he had always followed the ensembles created by the genius artist in his youth, and learned the accompaniment and harmonies from him. He noted that it is our duty to continue the tradition of Ahmet Bakikhanov and other prominent tarzans, to deeply study the tar technique, to protect it, to train an army of tarzans and to ensure that the sound of our tar comes from all over the world today.
Professor Ramiz Azizov, head of the Department of Folk Musical Instruments of the National Conservatory of Azerbaijan, welcomed the guests on behalf of the teaching staff of the National Conservatory and said that pedagogue, tarzan, People's Artist Ahmed Bakikhanov taught at the Conservatory until the end of his life, "Azerbaijani folk colors", "Mugam, song, color" , drew attention to the fact that his book "Rhythmic Mughams of Azerbaijan" is used in teaching.
Ahmed Bakikhanov's son, People's Artist, Composer Tofig Bakikhanov expressed his gratitude to Mr. President Ilham Aliyev for signing the decree on the celebration of his father's 130th anniversary and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for her invaluable services in the protection of our mughams and said that not only mugham performers, but Suleyman Alasgarov, Haji Khanmammadov, Agabaji Rzayeva, Arif Malikov and other composers also took mugham lessons from him, and he had a great role in the development of many of our performers.
Tofig Bakikhanov, who created the symphonic mugham genre based on mughams such as "Dughah", "Zabul segah", "Nava", "Shahnaz", "Humayun", "Rahab" derived from his father's playing style, expressed his gratitude to the management of the library for organizing his father's anniversary event.
Then prof. Karim Tahirov thanked all the guests and noted that as long as Azerbaijani tar and Azerbaijani musical culture exist, Ahmad Bakikhanov will live, be talked about and remembered.
At the end, the event participants inspected the organized exhibition.
