A meeting devoted to the first quarter of the current year was held on April 12, 2022 under the chairmanship of President Ilham Aliyev. The meeting was dedicated to the goals and tasks and successes of Azerbaijan, which has left behind the post-war era, in the last three months.

In the current year, Azerbaijan's participation in international organizations is commendable in the truest sense of the word. Azerbaijan has been able to adequately represent itself in this sphere. The decisions taken in favor of Azerbaijan are proof of this once again. The organization of the event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan's membership in the UN was a significant historical event in terms of the full recognition of the territorial integrity of our country by the UN.

Azerbaijan's participation in the international organization was related to the name of the Non-Aligned Movement. Currently, the movement headed by Azerbaijan has stood in solidarity with Azerbaijan both before the war and after the war, thereby demonstrating its fair position.

The cooperation of our country with other international organizations was related to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Thus, the organization Azerbaijan became a member of it in December 1991 has repeatedly adopted decisions reflecting our position during the occupation period. In addition, the organization's management visited the liberated lands.

One more progress in the framework of international relations is related to the name of OSCE. The OSCE, which includes the Minsk Group that has been working for a long time to resolve the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, today accepted the post-war reality which is a politically very important nuance.

The role of the European Union in the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia should not be forgotten. Thanks to the positive results of the meetings with the President of the Council of Europe Mr. Sh. Michel in December and April, the telephone conversation between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Armenia for the first time in the last 30 years is once again proof that the work done is positive.

Analyzing the current situation after the 44-day war, it was determined that there is a need to reorganize the military structure in Azerbaijan. And serious work has been done in this field in a short period of time. Thus, the number of personnel of the Special Forces was increased, structural reforms were carried out in the Ministry of Defense, and a new type of troops - Commandos (a military base was opened in Hadrut) was created. Some of the agreements signed with Turkey and Israel after the war have also been completed.

Today, after the Second Karabakh War, the restoration and repair works started in the territories freed from occupation, in our razed lands, are continuing in their own way. The process of demining in these areas has been accelerated. We would like to note with regret that more than 200 people were injured and some of them lost their lives from the mines buried by the Armenians in these lands. That is why it is forbidden to enter dangerous areas on your own. One of the works done in the first quarter of the current year was related to the cities of Aghdam and Fuzuli. The master plan of the city has been approved, and the works to be carried out according to the approved plan have been started. The strategy of the road infrastructure, which is the basis of the recovery strategy, was determined, and signatures were made on the construction of bridges and railway bridges between Iran and Azerbaijan. Also, the development of agriculture in the lands freed from occupation has not been unnoticed, plans have been put forward in this direction.

Martyrs' families and disabled people, who are always in the center of attention of the state, have not been ignored during the current year, the number of apartments built for them has increased even more compared to previous years. 190 of our veterans who were deprived of their physical capabilities in the war were provided with new generation prostheses, and the treatment program for veterans was successfully implemented. Of course, Azerbaijan did all this at the expense of its internal strength. Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover has increased, our debts have decreased, and our currency reserves have increased sharply.

In the plans for the near future in the development strategy of Azerbaijan Zangilan International Airport is intended to be put into operation. The construction of 9 electric substations in the liberated areas created the basis for future plans with power stations. The construction of wind power plants is certainly known. Among the proposals, the construction of wind power plants in Kalbajar and Lachin regions was put forward. Today, even proposals from foreign companies are being evaluated.

It is gratifying that Azerbaijan has done quite a lot in the world of stagnation.The goal is to return people who were once displaced from their homeland to their lands, to raise their standard of living there, and to strengthen Azerbaijan's place in the international arena.
