Azerbaijan continues its participation in the 71^st Frankfurt International Book Fair, one of the most prestigious book fairs in the world.

On October 17, 2019, within the framework of the exhibition,an event titled “Məndə sığar iki cahan-mən bu cahana sığmazam” (Both worlds can fit within me, but in this world I cannot fit) was held in the national pavilion in connection with the execution of the Order of the President of Azerbaijan Republic “On Celebrating the 650^thAnniversary of the Great Azerbaijani Poet ImadaddinNasimi” dated November 15, 2018. The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Germany and European Forum of Intercultural Cooperation.

The Chairwoman of the European Forum of Intercultural Cooperation Samira Patzer-Ismailova welcomed the participants of the event. Later, VagifAliyev, First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, made a speech about the outstanding poet Nasimi. He noted that the fact that the heritage of Nasimi has taken a worthy place in the treasury of the spirituality of the Azerbaijani people is directly connected with the name of national leader HeydarAliyev.At the initiative of the great leader HeydarAliyev, for the first time among remarkable representatives of Azerbaijani literature, the 600^th anniversary of Nasimi was included in the list of UNESCO events andcelebrated internationally in 1973.It should also be noted that a magnificent statue of the poet was erected in the center of Baku.

This care for Nasimi’s heritage is continued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr.IlhamAliyev.According to the Orders of the President of Azerbaijan Republic “On Celebrating the 650^th Anniversary of the Great Azerbaijani Poet ImadaddinNasimi” dated November 15, 2018, and “On Declaring 2019 as the Year of Nasimi in the Republic of Azerbaijan” dated January 11, 2019, the 650^th anniversary of Nasimi is celebrated solemnly in Azerbaijan and even beyond its borders.

The event was also attended byprof.KarimTahirov, Director of Azerbaijan National Library;Helga Daub, Deputy Chairwoman of German-Azerbaijan Forum;Eva Maria Auch, Head of Azerbaijan History Departmentat the Humboldt University of Berlin; Dr. Michael Hess, researcher of Nasimi creativity in Germany;German poet RaynxardMoritsen;NaibaShirinova, Chairwoman of German-Azerbaijan Union of İntellectuals; writer Orkhan Aras and others.

At the end of the event, books about ImadaddinNasimipublished in the current year were presented to the guests.

It should be noted that the 71^st Frankfurt International Book Fair will last until October 20.
