In response to the next military aggression of Armenia against our country, which began on September 27 last year, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, launched a patriotic war to liberate our occupied lands.

Azerbaijan's victories in military sphere, especially the liberation of Shusha from the occupation, played a decisive role in the war and resulted in Armenia's acknowledging its defeat and the signing of a trilateral statement on November 10 with the participation of the three countries' leaders. The capitulation act forced Armenia to return Kalbajar, Aghdam and Lachin regions to Azerbaijan.

According to the act of capitulation, Aghdam region was handed over to the Republic of Azerbaijan on November 20.

Aghdam region borders with Aghjabadi, Tartar, Barda, Kalbajar, Asgaran and Khojavand, as well as Fuzuli region.

On the occasion of this historic day, the staff of Azerbaijan National Library has prepared a virtual exhibition entitled “Aghdam was liberated from occupation”. The virtual exhibition features books, articles and photos on the subject.
