Book exhibition named “2 February is the Day of Youth” was organized at the Azerbaijan National Library on February 2, 2018. Director of the National Library prof. Karim Tahirov welcomed the participants of the event. He spoke of the declaration of 2 February as “The day of Azerbaijani youth” in accordance with the decree signed by the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev on February 2, in 1997. He also mentioned the exceptional role of youth in the field of Azerbaijan statehood.

Prof. Karim Tahirov emphasized that Mr. Ilham Aliyev successfully continues the youth policy of the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev. Director also spoke of the works done by the president in order that generation who are the founders of our future to be brought up in the spirit of patriotism, Azerbaijanism and statehood. Then, in their speeches, the youth spoke of the care provided to them in the independent state of Azerbaijan and added that they felt the support of the state in every sphere.

In the end, participants of the event got acquainted with the exhibition. The exhibition caused great interest of the participants.

Also, today at 12.00, an event named “Our Youth is our future” was held in the Open Library operating under the National Library. The event was attended by the pupils of the 8^th grade of school No.8. Deputy Director of the National Library Adiba Ismayilova spoke about the history of the Youth Day, the care and attention shown by President Ilham Aliyev to youth, and wished them to be among the distinguished youth of our country. Books and periodicals were on the exhibition. The event attendees got acquainted with the exhibition and were taken a photo in the end.
