September 15 is celebrated as Knowledge Day in Azerbaijan. In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan IlhamAliyev dated August 21, 2004, it’s decided to start classes in all educational institutions of Azerbaijan on September 15. Since then, September 15 is marked as Knowledge Day in Azerbaijan. In this regard, the staff of the National Library has prepared a virtual exhibition entitled “15 September is Knowledge Day”. The virtual exhibition contains books and photos on Azerbaijani education system, the history of education in Azerbaijan, education policy, education development strategy and etc.
