A scientific conference dedicated to the 101st anniversary of the birth of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and a presentation ceremony of the electronic database "National leader Heydar Aliyev" was held in the National Library of Azerbaijan under the joint organization of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Library.

At the event, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was first sounden and the memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was commemorated with a minute of silence. Later, a film dedicated to National Leader Heydar Aliyev was shown.

Opening the event by greeting the guests, Director of the National Library of Azerbaijan Professor Karim Tahirov noted that the 101st anniversary of Heydar Aliyev, the architect of the independent state of Azerbaijan, is coming to an end. Talking about the great leader's services to Azerbaijan, the director said that one of the greatest services of the national leader is to save Azerbaijan from division and lay the foundation of the entire Azerbaijan, as well as to recommend a colleague whom he believes as much as himself to lead his people. The emergence of the Azerbaijan state to this day, the flourishing of science, education, and culture is the result of the wise policy established by the Great Leader. Today, with the strong will of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the Great Leader continued his political course and the liberation of our Karabakh from the occupation with the participation of the Victorious Azerbaijan Army confirmed once again that the Great Leader was not wrong in his choice.

At the event Deputy head of Sabail District Executive Power Kamala Hashimova, Director of the Central Scientific Library of ANAS, Associate Professor Huseyn Huseynov, Deputy Director of Scientific Affairs and Library-Information Service of the National Library, Honored Culture Worker, Doctor of Philosophy in History Adiba Ismayilova, talked  about the rich and diverse activities of Heydar Aliyev, the visit of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to the National Library of Azerbaijan 4 times in 1995-1997 during the difficult days of the Republic of Azerbaijan, his donation of nearly 300 books from his personal library to the National Library, and the steps he took in the direction of the development of library work in Azerbaijan as a whole.

In the continuation of the event, the presentation of the Electronic database "National Leader Heydar Aliyev" reflecting the life and activities of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was held.

At the end, the event participants and guests got acquainted with a large book exhibition dedicated to the Great Leader.
