On April 28 is the 99th anniversary of the birth of academician Zarifa Aliyeva, who left an indelible mark on the medical science of Azerbaijan and made great contributions to our health.

There are such personalities that when you start a conversation about their life path, you inevitably become a participant in the process of formation of certain traditions of a certain historical period. It is a matter of pride for every nation that unforgettable persons lived and created in the history of the nation to which they belong. People whose services to the people are irreplaceable. Such people conquer that peak due to their extraordinary diligence, selfless kindness, innate talent, rare knowledge and abilities. One of such people is a humanist person, outstanding public figure, ophthalmologist-scientist Mrs. Zarifa Aliyeva.

Mrs. Zarifa was, in the truest sense of the word, a great doctor. She made a valuable contribution to the Azerbaijan School of Ophthalmology, was very actively involved in the training of young personnel. During many years of activity, Mrs. Zarifa has cured several eyes, performed the most complex and difficult surgeries, and illuminated the dark world of the visually impaired or completely blind. In this work, she was supported not only by her  knowledge, education and competence, but also by the high qualities received from her genes and the family in which she grew up.

On the occasion of the 99th anniversary of the birth of academician Zarifa Aliyeva, a virtual exhibition of the same name was prepared by the employees of the Azerbaijan National Library named after M.F. Akhundzade. In the virtual exhibition, the opinions of prominent people about academician Zarifa Aliyeva, books written about her  and authored by her, documents, articles and photos about her life and activities are displayed.

This noble lady, who devoted her life to the protection of people's health is always loved by everyone, precisely because of all her qualities, and her dear memory is remembered with respect.
