Novruz holiday is a holiday celebrated by our people for centuries. The origin of Novruz holiday, legends and myths related to it are ancient. Researchers say that the Novruz holiday originated among the ancient farming peoples of the Near East. The awakening of nature and life begins with Novruz. The people of Azerbaijan start celebrating the arrival of the new year, the new day - Novruz, at least four weeks in advance.

So, on the second day of every week,  Su(Water) Charshanba, Od (Fire) Charshanba, Yel(Wind) Charshanba, Torpag (Soil) Charshanba are celebrated. According to folk superstition, on the first Charshanba, water and water sources are refreshed and activated, on the second Charshanba fire, on the third Charshanba, wind, and finally on the fourth, Torpag (Soil) Charshanba nature awakens and heralds the arrival of spring.

On the occasion of Novruz holiday, a virtual exhibition called "Spring is coming to our country" was prepared by the employees of the National Library of Azerbaijan named after M.F. Akhundzade. In the virtual exhibition, information about Novruz holiday, photos, Novruz traditions, Charshanbas, Novruz sayings, etc. books and articles published in periodicals are displayed.
