November 21 is marked as the  establishment day of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP).

It was established on November 21, 1992 on the basis of the requirement of NAP "91", with the holding of a founding conference in Nakhchivan under the chairmanship of Heydar Aliyev and the participation of an initiative group of 550 people, and it was officially registered by the Ministry of Justice on December 18, 1992, it is a right-centered political party that unites citizens who accept the ideas of building a legal state, a stable and socially oriented economy, and a civil society in Azerbaijan, operating within the framework of its Constitution and legislation, based on its Charter and Program.

On November 21, 1992, the founding conference of the New Azerbaijan Party under the chairmanship of the great leader Heydar Aliyev laid the foundation for a bright future in the history of the newly independent Azerbaijan.

NAP, which emerged as an opposition party, became the ruling party in Azerbaijan in 1993 after the election of its chairman, Heydar Aliyev, as president and winning the victory in the parliamentary elections held in 1995. Heydar Aliyev was the chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party in 1992-2003. President Ilham Aliyev has been the chairman of NAP since 2005.

The main tasks put forward in the Program of the New Azerbaijan Party are the strengthening of state independence, the establishment of a democratic, legal, secular state, and ensuring the peaceful and prosperous life of citizens. The principles of independent statehood, rule of law, Azerbaijanism, creative evolution, civil solidarity and social justice, which form the basis of the party's ideology, essentially determine the ideological base of Azerbaijan's political future as an ideological guarantee for the implementation of the tasks facing NAP. It is the New Azerbaijan Party that is able to develop independent Azerbaijan on the path to independence.

On the occasion of this historical day, a virtual exhibition called "New Azerbaijan Party - 30" was prepared by the employees of the Azerbaijan National Library named after M.F. Akhundzade. The virtual exhibition includes photos, the history of the New Azerbaijan Party, its development path, its activities, its role in the statehood of Azerbaijan etc. books and articles published in periodicals are displayed.
